Interested in knowing more about what it means to be a Trill moderator? Check out our guidelines below! After reading the guidelines, you can submit an application here.
Our users include, but are not limited to, individuals struggling with mental health, members and allies to the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals recovering from trauma. Anyone else hoping to make new friends and find support, regardless of identity, may also access Trill. On Trill, everyone is welcome, and everyone belongs. Trill is a safe space for all.
Our community is not a place where everyone necessarily must agree with each other or ever try to change each other. It is where everyone hears, respects, and makes a conscious and substantial effort to understand and empathize with each other.
It's easy for intentions to be muddled (or potentially lost) online. Defensive behavior is often unkind. Approach misunderstandings with grace and a growth mindset. Constructive behavior (for example: asking questions, listening and responding respectfully, etc.) is more kind and fruitful.
This is a space for self-expression. Speak your truth! Ask questions, and answer questions in return as you are comfortable. As a result, you'll be able to spark new conversations and connections. Embrace the perspectives of all people equitably, and also be kind to yourself and your own needs. You may safely embrace vulnerability within yourself as a way to unlock new pathways to resilience.
When others are vulnerable, be there for them. Your words and experiences have the power to improve someone else's day. Offer support wherever and whenever you can. Don't mitigate, marginalize, dismiss, generalize, stereotype, or neglect the lived experience of another person. Instead, ask questions, validate others' experiences, and critically self-reflect to lean into new perspectives and learn from them.
Represent yourself authentically– with dignity and honesty. Explore other people’s truths, and exchange new ideas. Love yourself, and recognize your validity to take up space on Trill and in life. All truths are to be shared and listened to with equal respect and acceptance.
You control your interactions in this community, and you have the power to identify yourself. You have the freedom to report posts, block users, customize your feed, change your identity, and make new friends. You have the power to make your experience on Trill whatever is most valuable to you and your needs. We also acknowledge that your needs might change over time. Please do not share personal information (such as your phone number, home address, or last name). Otherwise, share as little or as much as you like. Remember that there is also power in taking a step back to listen and reflect.
Reporting posts, changing your identity, and blocking posts are always tools available to you. Your personal wellbeing and safety is our top priority. We ask that all users exist harmoniously. Under no circumstance will offensive content related to ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or religion be tolerated.
Trill may delete your content or accounts without prior notice if you harass, threaten, stalk or attempt to humiliate or publicly shame others or use hate language. We may also take action on any other violations of the community guidelines, implicit or explicit, that our team sees fit in order to keep the Trill community safe.
We encourage raising awareness around sensitive topics such as abuse and self harm. However, we also acknowledge that these topics can be triggering. Please express yourself mindfully and thoughtfully by considering how your words may impact others and by using trigger warnings (i.e., “The following post may contain language or describe an experience that is triggering for others.”). Additionally, there are crisis resources within the app for all users to access. On Trill, you are never alone, and we are here as a peer support network to show you kindness throughout your experiences. Most importantly, we are here to connect you to professional crisis resources as needed.
